Obituary for Carl Powers

Carl Powers, 74, of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Methodist Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1943, in Jellico, TN, one of six children to Johnie and Elvie Partin Powers. Mr. Powers was a veteran serving with the US Army. He retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems at the Y-12 plant where he was a utility operator. He was a member of Local 480 Machinist Union. Mr. Powers was an avid University of Kentucky fan and a bicycle enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Powers; son, John Curtis Powers and wife Karen of Powell; stepsons, David Faulkner and Danny O’Neal and wife Connie, all of Dickson, TN and Don Faulkner of Ft. Myers, FL; and grandson, Evan Powers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 4 – 6pm at Weatherford Mortuary. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 1pm (CST) at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens in Dickson, TN for a graveside service with Rev. Donnie Craig officiating. Memorials can be made to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
