Obituary for Lou Fern Stackpole

Lou Fern Lewis Dulaney Stackpole, 88, loving mother and grandmother passed away May 16, 2019 at Diversicare of Oak Ridge. Fern was born July 5, 1930 in Pine Grove, West Virginia.
She was a homemaker and also worked in various retail jobs throughout her life. She and husband Jack lived in Louisiana, Alabama, Colorado, and Idaho before returning to Oak Ridge in 1974. Later they moved to Kingston, TN and lived there for 30 years. After the death of her husband she then moved back to Oak Ridge in 2013. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Kingston. She loved to read, talk with good friends on the phone and crochet. Fern will be loved dearly by her daughter Mary Ellen Howard, son-in-law Jim Howard who always made her laugh and took such great care of her, son John Duane Stackpole, sister Sandy Housley, brothers Bob and Howard Goodin, grandchildren Jeremy Howard and wife Crystal and Brian Stackpole.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Oma Mae Dulaney Goodin, her beloved husband Jack, brother Butch Goodin, and sister Nancy Wade. Receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Private graveside service for family members will be held Sunday.
