Obituary for John Edmonds Hagood

John Edmonds Hagood, 64, of Oak Ridge, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 17, 2018. John was born on December 1, 1953 in Knoxville and was a lifelong resident of Anderson County. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School and retired from Bechtel Jacobs. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. He loved music and was a long-time member of the church choir. John enjoyed singing for residents of nursing homes. He occasionally sang on the "Cas Walker and Ciderville Farm and Home Show" on local cable television WYSH. He volunteered for community services including "Meals on Wheels". He also volunteered as a custodian for local churches. John was preceded in death by his parents, Burnell and Ann Hagood. He is survived by his brother, Dave and Glenna Hagood of Greene County, Tennessee. He is also survived by: his nephew, Eddie and Missy Hagood of Jonesborough, TN.; two nieces, Elizabeth and Parker Johnson, Victoria Hagood and fiancé Kyle; two great nieces, Skye Osborne and Layla Johnson, all of Greene County; aunt and uncle, Lorene and Calvin Cooper, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; several cousins; special extended family member, Letha Adkins of Clinton; and special friend and neighbor, Don Bell of Oak Ridge. There will be no visitation or formal service. There will be a graveside service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 with Rev. Glenn Ellis officiating.
