Obituary for Jenna McCue

Jenna McCue, 34, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2019 in a car accident.

She was born September 6, 1984 to Larry and Gloria Petrowski of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was a 2002 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and attended the University of Tennessee, where she received her degree in nursing in 2006. Jenna was a faithful and committed follower of Jesus and a core member at Faith Promise Church. As part of her Christian faith, she had a huge, compassionate heart and loved serving other people. She was employed as a nurse at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge for several years and most recently as a nurse extender at Parkway Cardiology Associates. She was described as a “shining light” by her coworkers and was beloved by staff and patients alike. She also spent several summers as a nurse at Victory Junction Gang Camp, a retreat camp for seriously ill and disabled children, in Randleman, NC.

She loved dance from an early age, studying at the Oak Ridge Academy of Dance. As an adult, she led the dance ministry for many years at Faith Promise Church. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening with her husband, Benny. She loved to travel, both to the beach and all over the world, and had a special love for art and art museums. She loved hiking and the outdoors.

She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Benjamin McCue of Clinton, her mother, Gloria Petrowski, wife of the late Larry Petrowski, of Oak Ridge, brother, Justin Petrowski, and his wife Kara, of Knoxville, her mother-in-law, Susan Mills, and her husband Rick, of Knoxville, brother-in law, Adam McCue and his wife Mary Beth, of Knoxville, sister-in-law, Chelsea Troutman, of Knoxville, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of University of Tennessee Medical Center for going above and beyond in their exceptional care and support of Jenna and the family. The family especially thanks the staff of Tennessee Donor Services for their assistance with the organ donor process. Through their assistance, Jenna was able to provide life-saving organ gifts to six people all over the country as a continuation of her life of service to others.

Services will be held at Faith Promise Church on Pellissippi Parkway, on Sunday, January 6. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM with a celebration of life service to follow. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be given in Jenna’s name to Victory Junction Gang Camp or Faith Promise Church.
