Obituary for Mildred Alice Henry Young

Mildred Alice Henry Young, 89, of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at NHC Health Care Center.
She was born December 9, 1927 in Rockford, TN, one of five children born to Floyd William Henry and Bessie Lee Vaughn Henry.
Mrs. Young was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and had been active with the Agape House.
She had an active 23 year career with RMC as a leasing agent.
Mrs. Young took a special interest and care of many young interns and visitors to Oak Ridge, always making them feel welcome. Many joined her for holiday meals and family gatherings. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and golf.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert, Eddie and Billy Henry and Dorothy Kavanaugh; daughter, Diane Young Roberts and son-in-law Ray Whitley.
She is survived by son, John Young of Oak Ridge; daughters, Carolyn Sue Young Whitley of Signal Mountain, TN, Jane Young Phillips and husband Howard of Eighty-four, PA,
Dottie Young Kelly and husband Mike of Knoxville and Catherine Young Whitt and husband Wilby of Fernandina Beach, FL; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend thanks and appreciation to NHC Oak Ridge staff, Caris Hospice and her caregivers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 1 – 2pm at Weatherford Mortuary. Family and friends will meet at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 2:30 for a graveside service. An online guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
