Obituary for Leona Maxine Henderson

Leona Maxine Patterson Henderson, 75 of Lenoir City went to sleep at her home on September 13, 2018 from the effects of brain cancer.

Maxine was born April 6, 1943 in Oliver Springs to parents Finley Patterson and Cordelia Duncan Patterson.

She worked at K-25 for 26 years as a data entry clerk and later as a travel agent. Maxine was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lenoir City, enjoyed travel, working around the house, and talking with her brother and sister daily.

She was preceded in death by:
Parents Finley and Cordelia Patterson;
Sisters, Bertha Edwards, Louise Sylvester, Wanda Walker;
Brothers, Billy Patterson, Archie Patterson, and Fred Patterson

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Survivors include:
Husband of nearly 55 years, Benny Joe Henderson;
Children, Eddis and Jennifer Henderson;
Granddaughter, Ashley Henderson;
Sisters, Pearlie Cole and husband Michael and Rainy Goddard and husband Glen;
Brother, Tommy Patterson and wife Jeanette.

The family will receive friends at Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge on Monday, September 17th from 6 pm until 8 pm, with the Celebration of Life beginning at 8 pm, Eddis Henderson and Michael Cole officiating. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM at Anderson Memorial Gardens. An online guest book may be signed at
