Obituary for Larry V. Hammonds

Larry V. Hammonds, 79, of Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born June 8, 1939 in Coalgood, Kentucky, the son of Owen A. Hammonds and Mattie Welch Hammonds.
He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a sound technician. In earlier years, he was an avid sportsman and enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jackson Hammonds, January 2, 2018.
He is survived by
daughters, Angela Hall and husband Ken and
Tiffany Baker and husband Andy, all of Oliver Springs;
brothers, Kenneth Hammonds of Manchester, TN and
O. A. Hammonds Jr., of Oak Ridge;
sister, Glenda Dunlap of Oliver Springs;
5 grandchildren, Blake Edwards, Bethany Edwards Raby and husband Cody, Matt Hall and wife Cassie, Alivia Baker and Jackson Baker and
3 great-grandchildren, Hudson Edwards, Elin Raby and Elliot Raby.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5 – 7pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 7pm with Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday at 10 am at Oliver Springs Cemetery for a graveside service.
