Obituary for James C. Jordan, III

James C. Jordan, III
August 28, 1965-February 9, 2018

James C. Jordan, III, 52, better known as Jimbo, Jimmy, and Jim, died February 9, 2018, leaving behind a family who loved him dearly, and the many treasures he knew his mother and sister would have no idea what to do with, knowing his numerous, very helpful and extremely funny sticky notes would help them figure it out. This isn’t about that though, this is about the man.
Jim was born August 28, 1965 in Oak Ridge, TN, to Pat Jordan and the late James C. Jordan, the younger of their two children. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1983 and Middle Tennessee State University in 1987 with a degree in Mass Communication. He had a very successful career in sales with Whittle Communications that took him all over the country. After that he worked for former Whittle executives in their subsequent ventures, and ended up as a sales rep in the pharmaceutical industry.
His loves were all things music, especially guitar (Joe Bonamassa and Stevie Ray Vaughn were his icons), lake life (camping, boating and fishing), vintage items and movies. He was always very quick witted, which in his childhood years may or may not have been perceived as annoying by his older sister, but later was appreciated by her and everyone around him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jim Jordan, his grandmother, Martha Swasey, his grandfather, Allen Swasey, and his paternal grandmother, Ina Robb. He leaves behind his mother, Pat Jordan, his sister, Jackie Pullen (Bob), nephew Lane Gonzalez, niece Alex Gonzalez, his brothers Ian Jordan (Ashley Lowe), Spencer Jordan (Carolyn), his uncle Vin Swasey (Katie), and cousins Chelsey, Matt and Erin of Reston, VA, his aunt Dottie Brewer (Robb), and cousin Ryan Smith of Signal Mountain, TN, his lifelong best friend, Robert Stevens of Oak Ridge, who has been as good a friend as anyone could have ever asked for, and his sweet German Shepherd, Sophie.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. An online guest book may be signed at weatherfordmortuary.com
