Obituary for Ernest Henry Taylor, Jr.

Ernest Henry Taylor, Jr., 73, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at his home. He was born November 19, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Ernest Henry Taylor Sr., and Hester Slusher Taylor. Mr. Taylor graduated from Karns High School in 1963 and was a retired sheet metal worker. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, James Robert Taylor and sister, Linda Berry. He is survived by his wife of five years, Jane Hall Taylor; son, Ernest “Ernie” Henry Taylor III of Eatonton, GA; sisters, Jerri Norton of Oak Ridge, Pat Ray of Knoxville, Henrietta Elliott of Oliver Springs and Martha Litton of Kingston; 2 grandchildren, Amanda Taylor Epps and husband Chad and Colton Henry Taylor; 2 great-grandchildren, Brayden Jaye Holder and Blaine Gatlin Epps, all of Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6 – 7pm at Central Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Glenn Ellis officiating. The family asks that any memorials be made to Central Baptist Church, 130 Providence Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Covenant Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care extended to Mr. Taylor. “We have suffered a great loss, but we will drive on with his memory.
