Obituary for Bethany Jenkins Whitney

Bethany Jenkins Whitney, 37, of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at her home. She was born February 21, 1980 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Linda K Howard Willis and William Reid. Bethany was a registered nurse in Knoxville. Her passion in life was her family. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Kris Whitney; Mother, Linda (Jack) Willis of Sevierville; Son, Shawn (Rebecca) Jenkins, serving with the US Army and stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; Daughter, Alyssa Jenkins of Oak Ridge; Brothers, Matt (Keeley) Reid of Andersonville, Justin Reid and Josh Reid of Greenville, SC; Sister, Julie Bowers of Myrtle Beach, SC; Grandson, Brantley Jenkins; Nephews, Kaden Reid, Brooks Reid; and Niece, Kennley Reid. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, and cousins who loved her dearly. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 5 – 7pm at Weatherford Mortuary. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 3425 Andersonville Hwy in Norris for a memorial service.
